Biochar in the Field
Chances are, there is already some biochar in your field.  It occurs naturally, it has been used in farming by generations past and it lasts a really, really long time.  What are the best ways to use biochar in the field?

With gardening, the name of the game is productivity. Â While the lines between farming and gardening can be blurry, gardening is typically something we think of as smaller in size and closer to home.
Biochar in the Nursery
Biochar is lightweight, porous, holds water and nutrients, and green plants look great against black. Â As a potting media component for nurseries it is an absolutely perfect fit.
Biochar in Composting.
This is it.  Perhaps the most efficient place to start with biochar.  Biochar’s use in the composting process is a win-win-win.Â
