Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) publishes Case Study on Pacific Biochar

It could be said that integrity is best found in the actions taken when nobody is watching. In spite of that, or maybe because of that, it is especially satisfying when a light is shown on works of great integrity.

We're grateful for the light that The Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) has shown on our fantastic project with Humboldt Redwood Company, where we're finding productive uses for woody biomass generated through forestry and sawmill operations while removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and leaving a legacy of fertile soil.

Check out this case study, highlighting the project, and our move towards Core Carbon Principle approved methodologies with the Isometric registry.

And many thanks to the hardworking team at Mangrove Systems for the dMRV support that is so critical in managing and reporting our data.

About the ICVCM (in their own words)

"The Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) operates as an independent non-profit governance body working to establish and maintain worldwide standards for integrity in the voluntary carbon market (VCM).

ICVCM emerged in 2021 after the Taskforce on Scaling the Voluntary Carbon Markets (TSVCM)received backing from more than 250 global organisations.

Our vision is clear: where integrity exists, scale will follow.

The concept of integrity to us means that every carbon credit represents actual verified emission reductions or removals from the atmosphere while promoting sustainable development and protecting nature."

Cheers from the Pacific Biochar team.
