Charlie McIntosh graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2012 with a B.S. in Chemical & Biological Engineering where he focused on renewable energy and waste management. Â Volunteering with AmeriCorps, Charlie completed a year of community service with refugees from eastern Africa and southeast Asia developing urban farms, farmer’s markets, and community gardens in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri in 2014-2015. Â In 2016, he graduated from the Apprenticeship in Ecological Horticulture at the University of California, Santa Cruz Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems. Â He has worked in the field of sustainable and organic agriculture as a farm hand, assistant manager, and farm manager on farms around Northern California where he gained first-hand experience farming annual mixed vegetables, culinary/medicinal herbs, specialty cut flowers, and perennial tree/vine crops.
